How do I get rid of the AI overview in Firefox?

I have noticed from around the past month that whenever I search for a word's meaning on Google on a normal Firefox tab (e.g., "nosey parker meaning"), I am confronted with an AI overview instead of the usual dictionary card. However, doing the same thing on a Private window works as required. I have tried only selecting web results but that does not solve the issue either. Please refer to the two screenshots below for a reference.

How do I get rid of this annoying AI overview, at least when looking for word meanings?

I find the dictionary cards way more resourceful than the overview. I have also tried this on the Firefox app on my mobile and the same issue persists there too.

"&udm=14" essentially reroutes to Google's Web results tab, which is fine, but it's not the same as blocking. I also doubt that you would get those dictionary card in the Web tab.

You are on Firefox, uBlock Origin by itself should be able to handle it. I have never had to use an element picker or additional blockers like other commenters suggested. Multiple content blockers are usually bad because they will bump into each other, causing each to be less effective or/and trip up things like adblocker detectors in some websites.

But then, AI blocking is an arms race - these providers want to shove AI at you at all cost, afterall. In the event that the AI gets through base uBO, you have a few options to proceed:

• Harden it with the additional filters in uBO (off by default),such as "EasyList - AI Widgets".
• Add this user-maintained filter to uBO (and also uBlacklist if you want to filter out AI websites in your results).
• Reach out for support from the volunteer team in uBO's subreddit.
